Overview

This position works collaboratively with physicians and other caregivers to deliver appropriate treatments and nursing interventions in an ambulatory office setting; or answers questions, offers guidance to the public as a point of first contact and serves as liaison between patients and provider offices in a call center setting.

Responsibilities

Role Specific Responsibilities - Call center

  • Answer telephone promptly in a polite and professional manner following call center scripts.
  • Accurately document patient symptoms or complaints, and follow protocols to ensure pertinent medical information is communicated properly for good continuity of patient care.
  • Assist with prescription refills per protocol.
  • Use call center telecommunication equipment and EHR technology to efficiently multi-task, handle calls, and manage time.
  • Communicate compassionately and effectively, exercising sound judgment in handling calls, especially with dissatisfied patients.
  • Portray a positive company image and engaging in professional and friendly communications with customers
  • Identify and encourage enrollment of patient utilization of MyChart.
  • Actively listen to customer needs and inquiries and determine appropriate service actions, including identification and escalation of priority issues.
  • Use teamwork and collaboration to share knowledge and information between call center and clinic settings.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of a LPN program or Certified Medical Assistant required.

 

Licenses and Certification

 

  • BLS required

 

Experience and Skills

  • Technical Experience:  1 year of clinical office experience required
  • Customer Service: 1 year customer service experience preferred.
