Responsible for performing all duties associated with administering the 340B program at Southern Illinois Health eligible hospitals in alignment with the 340B financial analyst and pharmacy inventory specialist positions so current rules and regulations outlined by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) are complied with. Additionally, the position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of pharmaceutical prices for purposes of billing for services so they comply with SIH revenue management and cost accounting principles.

    • Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.
  • Role Specific Responsibilities
    • Ensures compliance with 340B federal regulations while maximizing participation and corresponding saving opportunities;
    • Maintains policies and procedures for the 340B Program in concert with pharmacy leadership;
    • Performs initial compliance audits in conjunction with the 340B financial analyst, maintains Program in an auditable state, complete quarterly comprehensive self-audits and scheduled or ad hoc targeted audits of various aspects of SIH’s 340B program;
    • Monitor and manage 340B split billing software to ensure appropriate application of multipliers and proper matching of NDCs
    • Understands pharmacy purchasing and procurement of drugs and the impact on the 340B regulatory requirements;
    • Coordinates processes with 340B financial analyst, hospital finance and IT to ensure compliance in mixed use areas with accumulation/replenishment system in a manner to minimize purchases at wholesaler acquisition cost (WAC), monitors all drug purchases on the GPO, WAC and 340B accounts, participate with Prime Vendor Program Apexus/PVP;
    • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and communicate the organization’s compliance and continuous effectiveness of the 340B program;
    • Provide staff education regarding SIH’s 340B Program;
    • Conduct daily review of charges across the 340B pharmacy system;
    • Collaborate with SIH Finance and Epic Willow to complete comprehensive annual pharmaceutical price and charge updates;
    • Coordinate compliance to SIH Medication Assistance Programs;
    • Communicates any questions, issues or discrepancies with the appropriate leadership authority


Bachelors’ Degree with emphasis in sciences or healthcare highly preferred

Graduate of 340B Prime Vendor Program

Certified Pharmacy Technician Registered with Illinois State Board of Pharmacy
