Overview

Responsible for analyzing, designing, testing, documenting, and implementing software applications or modifying existing software while establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

Safety

  • Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient health and safety.

Record Keeping

  • Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files, and other documents as required.

Process Improvement

  • Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.
  • Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.

Role Specific Responsibilities

                            

  • Analyzes requirements, maintains, tests, and integrates application components.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead and organize meetings effectively.
  • Designs, builds, analyzes workflow and redesigns Epic applications.
  • Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
  • Documents and maintains accurate records of work performed within the ITSM (IT Service Management) system.
  • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented.
  • Liases with customers, other IT staff, and vendors for design, planning, implementation, and problem resolution using effective communication and appropriate follow-up.
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest developments in information technology, especially as it pertains to healthcare.
  • May serve as a manager on small projects.
  • Provides application software development services and ongoing maintenance/technical support for electronic medical records.
  • Provides availability for on-call emergency solution support and other after hours support duties as assigned by ITS management.
  • Provides support to customers and coworkers for problems and issues reported through the ITSM system.
  • Sets and maintains goals, timelines and commitments, demonstrating proven attention to detail and high level of organization and accuracy.
  • Tests new and changed application functionalities.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's degree required in business, IT, or healthcare related field.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Relevant job related certifications with EPIC application certification within 90 days of hire.

Experience

  • Technical experience:  Two years of relevant experience.
  • Operating room or Epic Analyst experience is preferred.
