Responsible for developing a plan of care to meet the patient’s nutritional needs.
Role Specific Responsibilities
o Screens patients for determination of nutritional status.
o Recommends supplements, advances diets and provides nutritional support to physicians/staff.
o Consults with inpatients, family, physicians, nurses and staff, as appropriate, to provide nutrition education
o Assesses and reassesses patients at nutritional risk and makes recommendations for nutrition therapy.
o Develops or orders nutrition education materials for patients, employees and the community.
o Reviews and revises modified diet information provided by Food & Nutrition Services.
o Provides nutritional education to employees, outpatients and community members as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics
