  • Overview

    Responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, testing, documenting, implementing software applications or modifications to existing software while establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers, customers and vendors.

      • Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.
    • Role Specific Responsibilities
      • Provides application software development services and ongoing maintenance / technical support for electronic medical records typically in a defined project.
      • Develops program logic for new application or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
      • Gathers requirements, designs applications, and documents detailed specifications to maintain and support electronic medical records applications.
      • Analyzes requirements, maintains, tests, and integrates application components.
      • Validates and confirms new or changed functionalities to ensure customer specifications are met.
      • Demonstrates ability to organize and lead meetings effectively.
      • Mentors, leads and facilitates team of subordinate analysts.
      • Contributes to process improvement.
      • Maintains system security ensuring patient confidentiality.
      • Liaise with customers, other IT staff and vendors for design, planning, implementation and problem resolution using effective communication and appropriate follow-up
      • Documents and maintains accurate records of work performed within the ITSM system.
      • Maintains knowledge of the latest developments in information technology, especially as pertains to healthcare.
      • Provides availability for "on-call" emergency solution support and other after-hours support duties as assigned by ITS Management.
      • Sets and maintains goals, timelines and commitments, demonstrating proven attention to detail and high level of organization and accuracy.
      • Oversees major IT solutions, while seeking assistance for secondary support when appropriate.
      • Demonstrates ability to organize and lead meetings effectively.
      • Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented in adherence to department policies, procedures and best practices.
      • Provides advanced level support to customers and coworkers for problems and issues reported through the IT Service Management system (ITSM).
      • Participates in leadership development opportunities.
      • Manages complex, critical solutions and projects with minimal guidance.
      • Continually pursues opportunities to improve and mentors junior level staff in development of these skills.
      • Demonstrates ability to lead and coordinate diverse teams both within and outside of ITS.
      • Builds and maintains good relationships with all SIH management team members.



    • Bachelor's degree required in Business, IT or Healthcare Related Field
    • 7 years of experience in IT and/or operations related to the position
    • Epic Business Intelligence Developer - Clinical Data Model Certification within 90 days of hire (if applicable)


    • Current Epic Clinical Data Model certification/profiency
    • Current Epic Inpatient/ClinDoc/Orders certification/profiency
    • Microsoft SQL Server: T-SQL experience
    • Crystal report experience
    • Tableau experience
