Responsible for assisting physicians and clinical staff with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required.
Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.
Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.
Role Specific Responsibilities
Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management.
Performs tests as required.
Collects patient history.
Performs office reception and billing duties.
Secures and stocks supplies.
Assists the office nurse, as needed, in obtaining patient assessment information and vital signs as directed including weight and blood pressure.
Performs patient registration in EPIC and completes all associated processes, including but not limited to insurance pre-certification and referrals.
High School diploma or GED equivalent; NCCT Medical Assistant certification required to be considered for CMA position. Will consider non-certified for position with expectation of receiving certification within one year of hire.
