$15.00/hr minimum - $20.00/hr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)

Responsibilities

Position Summary

  • Responsible for assessing spiritual needs, provides spiritual care and pastoral counseling to patients/families/employees.
  • The fundamental function of the Chaplain Associate is to make tangible the presence of God as he/she provides pastoral ministry in the health care
  • The Chaplain Associate assists individuals with spiritual and emotional integration of their current health crisis and brining a positive outcome. 

Job Roles

  • Safety
    • Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
  • Record Keeping
    • Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required.
  • Process Improvement
    • Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.
    • Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.
  • Role Specific Responsibilities
    • Assesses, provides, and documents pastoral care to the patients, families and staff daily. Determine spiritual needs and a plan of care.
    • Works with area Ministers
    • Proactively participates in inter-disciplinary delivery of holistic patient care services through rounding, inter-departmental meetings, and family conferences.
    • Provides appropriate pastoral care through the sacraments, ordinances, rituals and blessings as needed.
    • Maintains appropriate follow-up care with patient/families.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education

  • I: High School diploma or equivalent
  • II: Associate’s degree preferred
  • Pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree and Clinical Pastoral Education expected

Licenses and Certification

  • Licensed or Commissioned to Ministry by Church
  • Ordination optional
  • Endorsement by local church, diocese, or denomination

Experience and Skills

  • Technical Experience: 1 year
