$40.00/hr minimum - $40.00/hr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)

Responsible for assisting the Registered Pharmacist and fills medications.

Qualifications

Education

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Recent College of Pharmacy Graduate (ACPE or International)-Pending IL RPh License

 

Licenses and Certification

  • Illinois Registered Pharmacy Technician License-Student Pharmacist

 

Experience and Skills

Technical: 0-1 year pharmacy experience (any setting) .

  

 Preferred:

 Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills

  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes as necessary
  • Ability to interact constructively with supervisors, peers, and external customers
  • Ability to follow direction from formal management personnel and informal supervisors (pharmacists) and work independently
  • Ability to identify, mitigate, and assist in resolving pharmacy operational or program issues
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Acute care pharmacy experience
  • Ability to teach pharmacy technician students
  • Proficiency in hospital computer system technology and automation
  • Knowledge and competence in aseptic techniques, hazardous drug compounding and USP 795, 797, and 800 standards (if applicable)
  • Knowledge and competence in the medication reconciliation process
