$63,984/yr minimum - $95,841/yr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)

Responsible for supervising areas of assignment and assisting in daily operations of imaging department (e.g., nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, CT, ultrasound, and/or interventional radiology).

Responsibilities

Safety

  • Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
  •  

Record Keeping

  • Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required.
  •  

Department Management

  • Maintains 24-hour accountability for department, making independent decisions to implement strategies and programs for patient focus.
  • Delegates authority and accountability to staff to ensure optimal outcomes and staff engagement.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of unit/department-based programs and processes to ensure optimal outcomes.
  •  

Process Improvement

  • Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.
  • Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.

Staffing

  • Manages the unit/department effectively in regard to staffing and staff supervision
  •  

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision, leadership and guidance to employees in the assigned modalities
  • Collaboratively works with like modalities across the system to ensure system staffing approach and technologist coverage are maintained prior to finalizing staff schedules
  • Serves as student clinical instructor/liaison
  • Responsible for coordinating student competencies, documentation, and regular meetings with students
  • Coordinates work and patient flow to utilize staff efficiently
  • Performs clinical exams as needed and monitors patient flow.
  • Collaborates with departmental and system leadership to improve quality of Imaging Service Line.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate’s degree

 Licenses and Certification

  • certification in an Imaging Modality required:
  • AART, RDMS, and/or NMTCB
  • BLS

Experience and Skills

  • Technical Experience:  3 years imaging experience
  • Advanced Imaging experience preferred (CT, MRI, NM, US)
  • Supervisory Experience: 1 year preferred
