$20.16/hr minimum - $29.23/hr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)

Responsible for interviewing incoming patients, pre-registration, registration, and insurance verification to facilitate the registration process.

Responsibilities

  • Safety
    • Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
  • Record Keeping
    • Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required.
  • Process Improvement
    • Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.
    • Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.
  • Role Specific Responsibilities
    • Follows registration policy and procedures to accurately identify patient, insurances, obtain required signatures where applicable.
    • Verifies order is present in Epic/HI folders prior to registration.
    • Contacts, or refers to the appropriate individual/department to provide necessary data to financially secure account.
    • Offers patients all required brochures and obtains all necessary signatures.
    • Explains failed ABN to patient, obtains signatures and reviews document for completeness.
    • Collects and post ED copays. Balance drawer at end of each shift.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent

Medical Terminology

Technical Experience 1 year

Typing minimum 40 wpm
